DSM Productions delivers the equipment and technical production at Wakefield Cathedral for the Community Foundation Wakefield District’s Unsung Hero Awards 2021
Friday 1st October 2021 saw the Unsung Hero Awards descend on Wakefield Cathedral, this was the first time the event was held at the stunning venue and we were proud to be a part of it.
Wakefield Cathedral is well known for its outstanding architecture and spire. We’ve been privileged, over the past few years, to have delivered some of Wakefield highest profile events. For this years’ Unsung Hero Awards we provided all the lighting, staging, audio and visual along with heavy power distribution for both technical production and catering – of course no award ceremony is complete without a stunning star cloth running the width of the venue.
DSM Productions has looked after the Unsung Hero Awards since 2018, along with numerous other events that the Foundation holds, but due to the pandemic a new home for the awards had to be found and we were delighted to hear that we would once again be providing the technical production and hire of equipment for this years event.
The evening saw 250 guests be wined, dined and entertained as some very well deserving people were handed awards. With Harry Gration hosting the event a total of 11 awards were given out to local heroes, the winners were given engraved glass trophies In acknowledgement of the time and effort they have volunteered.
The pandemic saw events such as these come to a halt, as a result the wonderful work that people do went unrecognised until the restrictions were eased and the event could go ahead. The raffle and auction raised an amazing total of £4,170.00 to help the Foundation to continue delivering vital support for some of the most vulnerable people in our district.
