#LightItInRed Campaign to Support the Live Event Industry

#LightItInRed Theatre Royal Wakefield

The Live Event Industry is worth an estimated £110bn and employs thousands of full time staff, freelancers and many more operatives throughout the supply chain. On the 23rd March 2020 (13th March for DSM) it ground to a complete stop.

During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, the live event industry suffered heavily. Events of all shapes and sizes disappeared overnight. This has had a drastic effect on production companies, venues, promoters, artists, managers and the rest of the supply chain.
In an effort to raise awareness of the impact, that COVID-19 was having on the live event industry, we joined a campaign titled #LightItInRed organised by a number of industry bodies. The idea, simple – light up a landmark in red to raise awareness and show support and solidarity to everybody, in our industry, being effected.

We were lucky enough to get involved with Theatre Royal Wakefield and had the opportunity light the entire theatre up in red.

A simple yet effective statement to help such an important cause.
