At DSM Productions, we are committed to ensuring that all of our Productions & operations are as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible – aiming to reduce our carbon footprint to NET ZERO!
How are we doing this?
We can all make small changes that can have a big impact on the environment. Steps we have taken are:
- Reduced the use of single use batteries – favouring rechargeable where possible
- Fleet movements – the majority of our vehicle fleet are Euro6 compliant meaning that they emit very little harmful gases and where this isn’t possible, we operate very routine maintenance to ensure that helps to ensure that the vehicles are running efficiently.
- Any disposable paper products (cups etc…) are recyclable and/or compostable meaning that less goes to landfill and those that do decompose usually within 90 days
- Lighting in our offices and warehouse has been exchanged to low energy or LED technology
- Energy efficient heating is also installed throughout the premises to help lower our energy consumption in the colder months & Air Conditioning usage is kept to a minimum and instead, we open windows to allow a fresh air flow through our offices
- Our production equipment is kept up to date which naturally reduces the energy consumption – for example, digital audio amplifiers & LED stage lighting
- Waste: Live events naturally creates waste. This could be scenic materials, tapes, electronics waste and so on. Where possible we will reduce the amount of material used to reduce the amount of waste created. The next step is to reuse materials & if this is not possible we send the waste off to recycling or general waste goes to a biomass facility and turned into fuel
- Supply chain monitoring – We constantly monitor our supply chain to ensure that we are using suppliers that have the same vision as us. Things such as reducing packaging at source and buying from within the EU help to reduce our overall footprint and strengthen our supply chain relationships
- We actively work with third party organisations to offset our carbon emissions and encourage our staff and sub-contractors to do the same – however this may be
